I have. So much. To say. About this book. I kind of want to make a Bad News page similar to our You Have to Stop This page.

      Oh my god. It’s over.

I don’t know what to do. I feel so empty.

    School… again.

    How is everyone’s week going?

    • paperclip123 11:08 pm on January 26, 2017 Permalink | Reply

Pretty okay, it felt like such a long week, though…
My English teacher is in the UK for the week and we have a supply teacher (who happens to have been our actual teacher in year seven) and I feel like we’ve done more work this week than we have in the past year and a half lol. But she did talk about our teacher and say he has a way of teaching that gets you to learn without you feeling like he’s teaching you, but it’s still more than a little worrying when all the other classes have written multiple essays and you’ve done 1 (one) practice question.
Also, my Design & Technology manufacturing deadline is on the eighth of February so I’ve been staying late after school every day and probably will continue to do so until the deadline. I’m making a collapsible cutlery holder which is pretty cool.
We have Sunday off so it’s a long weekend!! Whoo! Revision!! (Weekends here are Friday/Saturday, in case you forgot) Seriously, though, I need the extra time to revise for mocks. And to write my French controlled assessment.

      How about you?

A supply teacher? I guess that’s what we call a substitute teacher?
Also, a collapsible cutlery holder! O.o What’s it made out of?

        • paperclip123 10:19 pm on January 29, 2017 Permalink | Reply

I do call them substitute teachers sometimes but I think supply teacher is British.

okay, research says that a supply teacher is there for a longer stretch of time and a substitute teacher just covers the one lesson!

Oh, okay! Although in seventh grade we once had a perma-sub for four months (I’m nearly convinced my class made our first teacher quit – yes it was that bad), and then in 9th my English teacher was on maternity leave for most of the year so we had another one. We just still call them subs. \(‘-‘)/

Pretty okay. I’ve got a midterm essay to work on that’s due Friday, and I’m trying to spread out working on it, but I also have tons of other stuff to do, and buses are awfully inconvenient sometimes…

But hey, new RWBY episodes make every Sunday better. :-,

Post Prompt 1/19/17: Did you make a New Year’s resolution? If not, do you have any goals or things you would like to improve on this year?

I’ve been trying to drink more water. I’m also trying to work on ways to be kinder to myself–especially after finals. Oh man. I don’t know why–all of my finals ended up being fine, but I ended up turning into this raging ball of stress and self-doubt and self-loathing. I’m gonna try to make sure that doesn’t happen again. In general I think I need to learn how to take more breaks. A weird thing I realized was that, at a certain point of studying, you know everything you’re going to know. The questions I miss on tests are always the questions that weren’t on the study guide. There’s no way of anticipating everything. Basically there comes a time where the extra studying isn’t making you learn the thing MORE, you’re just driving yourself crazy. And for a lot of classes, there’s always going to be something on the test that you don’t know, and all the studying in the world isn’t going to make you anticipate it. And no matter what I did, even though I was acing all of my tests, by the time the next one came around I would still panic and worry that I wasn’t doing enough. I want to figure out a less intense study schedule, know when I’m doing enough, probably do quite a bit more, and pause to breathe and eat cheese or whatever.

This was kind of a mess. I figured I’d post today because I’m not really doing anything. Dread over tomorrow finally hit me. I’m trying to pull myself out of the dread abyss. Gonna look at cats.

Hi! I just finished my finals and I feel the same way. I got 30% on my Physics one which brought my grade down from an A to an AB but who cares. I pulled an A in AP Chem through sweat tears and death!!!!!! I feel you about dread about tomorrow. I’m trying not to feel it.

Yes. I don’t even want to think about it. I considered calling Ron Johnson (WI Republican Senator) to tell him to vote against some of Trump’s cabinet, but… it really doesn’t make a difference anyway

True. I love the Trump supporters who are surprised. What did they expect?

    • Agent Snowbell 8:35 pm on January 21, 2017 Permalink | Reply

Hmm, I kind of made “start-of-college” resolutions in September instead… be more assertive, dress and act how I want to instead of worrying about how other people will perceive me (I wear cloaks now ^-^), try flute and archery (haven’t done that second one yet), become a moderately good ice skater (close! I mean, I look absurd while doing it still, but I can go at a reasonable pace)… I think that was about it. Oh, and don’t have a conniption if I don’t get straight A’s one of these quarters. Hasn’t been an issue yet, but just promising myself that has relaxed me a *lot.*

Also, that’s a good resolution! I’ve most of the time been too worried about existential crises to spend too much time overthinking my grades (maybe I should post about that… eh…), but otherwise I probably would be. It takes work to be calm.

      • Agent SD 5:57 pm on January 22, 2017 Permalink | Reply

        Cloaks! *high five*

I think I need to adopt your lack of straight-A stress. I remember before my first history midterm asking my best friend if a D was still passing and just totally losing my mind in general. It was probably the hardest class I’ve ever taken. Made it out with a 97 and it was probably the only A I’ve ever felt proud of.

        • DisguisedCassandra 6:17 pm on January 23, 2017 Permalink | Reply

I get A’s but it doesn’t really matter. Being smart is not only in getting all A’s. Wow I’m done speaking now I sound weird. Oh well. And the cloaks; I want one!

        • Agent Snowbell 11:29 am on January 29, 2017 Permalink | Reply

Hee. ^-^ I love them. I’ll post pictures once I eventually do a face-reveal (waiting until I’m no longer a minor, because why not – I’m much less concerned about strict internet safety procedures these days, but I have some residual concern about stuff like that… Remind me, did I ever tell you guys what college I’m attending? I didn’t, did I? Because that’s basically my address ._.).

        • Agent Snowbell 11:31 am on January 29, 2017 Permalink | Reply

Also (forgot about the second half of this), I’m glad you did make it out with a great grade in the end! It isn’t good to stress out ridiculously when you have nothing to worry about, but it’s better than stressing because you really do have something to worry about… probably…

    • Lily 12:41 pm on February 1, 2017 Permalink | Reply

I didnt make a resolution which is weird for me because I usually make several. Tbh they’re stupid like ‘read 100 books’ or something lame like that.

Post Prompt 1/17/17: What are you looking forward to this year?

    I’m excited for:
    Bad News!
    The third Despicable Me movie
    Pixar’s movie Coco
Cautiously optimistic for the new Pirates of the Caribbean
Finishing my GE’s and lower division English classes, and then finally taking all upper division English classes next semester!
    The book festival YALLWEST!
    STAR WARS LAND AT DISNEYLAND

I might add more later. Trying to stay positive before the inauguration is getting kind of hard.

    • Agent Snowbell 11:44 pm on January 17, 2017 Permalink | Reply

      Ooh!

~Bad News also! It just shiiipped 😀
~Wearing my new cloak to class tomorrow maybe! I got it tonight. (It’s a fahncy custom-made one.)
      ~Physics next quarter! ^^
~Reading Crooked Kingdom! Started and finished Six of Crows over MLK weekend, and it surpassed all my expectations. Since Mav reads slower than me, though, I’ve promised to give him a head start and wait on the sequel until February.
~Road trip this summer! My family is heading to the Midwest to have a family reunion/funeral for my great-grandmother, and I haven’t been since I was five. Should be fun, but very hot. (Unfortunately, it overlapped with Mav’s trip to see *his* family, which he was going to try and take me on, but this is really important so I won’t complain.)
~Mav maybe going to college in the same state as me starting in September! *crosses fingers*
      ~Potential ice skating lessons?
~More news on HTTYD3, hopefully, although not the release.
~A new Undertale comic by Lynxgriffin, who is a cartooning and comic-scripting genius. Her last one, Dogs of Future Past, is 10/10 (although hardcore Undertale fans will get the most out of it).
~If I’m being optimistic, maybe more snow! Although January here seems to be warmer than December FSR? \:-/
~Just in general having more college fun times, seeing more deer, doing math, arting, and various other things! :3

I highly approve of this prompt. It is pretty easy to get weighed down by all the *not*-great stuff going on around the world instead of focusing on the positives and being productive.

Lush, if I’m hired (been applying to a lot of things recently)

October in LA has been pretty hot. Our weather is also very finicky in the way that the hottest day of one week will have a high of 95, and the coldest will have a high of 77 or something.

Now, it’s what many in California consider wintery weather. It’s the start of eggnog season, and Seth and I bought our first carton of pumpkin spice eggnog for the year. And yesterday we stopped by a couple stores that had Chirstmasy stuff already. Because it feels like Christmas now.

And, y’know. Of course, feels like Christmas means it’s 65 degrees right now and it’s a bit overcast.

It feels really nice, nevertheless, because I think a lot of people in SoCal are used to the weather being pretty stagnant. If you’re not used to it, you might not tell much of a difference between summer and winter. The changes are subtle, but seeing the changing of the seasons in my new home feels special and beautiful. Even if it is just a bit cloudy.

    How’s everyone doing?

okay, so it seems to me we’re experiencing the same-ish weather mostly lol. here in dubai we’re ranging between 25-35 degrees c.
it feels very nice here too! over the summer we reach the forties which i believe is like over a hundred farenheit

I’m gradually inching out of the one of the worst depressive ruts I’ve faced so far in my life. In addition to that, I’ve been very physically sick- I think it largely has to do with the fact that I was isolated and not really leaving bed or taking care of myself so the sickness hit me much worse than it usually would. I’m back at school right now. Just had an AP Chem test that I probably failed, but that’s okay. My teachers have been surprisingly understanding and kept my grades at As.

It’s weirdly warm here? And by weirdly warm I mean like 55-60 degrees lmao. Usually it would be around 35-40 degrees by this point in the year.

That’s all I really have to say. Hope y’all are doing better than I am.
