    Another Saddened Word…

    • Zorganoth 2:50 pm on May 20, 2012 Permalink | Reply

Orange has almost no perfect rhymes. The only word in the 20-volume historical Oxford English Dictionary that rhymes with orange is sporange, a very rare alternative form of sporangium (a botanical term for a part of a fern or similar plant). Silver is another word for which it is almost impossible to find a perfect rhyme: the only candidate is the rare word chilver, which the 20-volume Oxford English Dictionary defines as ‘a ewe-lamb’ (i.e. a female lamb).

A chat with my brain the other day:

Me: I hope Write this Book comes out this year. I also hope The Word Gang’s sequel does as well.
Brain: Really? They still need to be finished, edited, published, promoted, and all that.
    Me: I guess I could handle it…
Brain: Yeah, right. You can barely wait seven months for a British TV show. Try that on for size.
Me: How will I make it this year?
    Brain: [no comment]

I know it’s not a recent story, but I just read it and it is sad but cool:

does anyone believe in psychics? i kinda do, i know most of them are fake but my one friend and i were video chatting on the night that the tsunami in japan happened and right before it happen she started to cry, and i mean full out crying. I’m like freaking out cus it was so sudden and then she starts saying stuff like “people are dying! lots of people!” and she’s a psychic. she predicted the tsunami, and me and her were the first people to know it was going to happen

      • Zach 3:36 pm on April 28, 2012 Permalink | Reply

        Wow! Unbelievable! Predicting a tsunami?!

yeah the psychic thing runs in her family. her dad has known for years where Osama was hiding but nobody believed him when he said anything about it. then guess where they found him? the exact place her dad said

Mmmmm…I’m too rooted in science. I dunno. I can’t explain against her ‘gift’, but other people can’t explain how being psychic could be possible.

    Fish Custard, Take 3

    20120423-180433.jpg

Above is my 3rd variation on the food treasured by Whovians: fish custard. I first tried it a while back with special fish stick-shaped cookies and custard. Then (before I went vegan), I did it with real fish sticks. It was surprisingly good.

This vegan version uses flavored vegetable tofu as the fish and custard based on vanilla soy milk. It was okay — could’ve been better.

For the actual episode, Matt Smith’s fish sticks were actually Twinkies. If I can find a vegan one, I’d try it that way…

Ahhh haa haa haaaaa!!! Well, I suppose vegan fish sticks might be better with custard…Maybe? Anyway, shaped cookies sound like the best idea. XD

    • Agent SD 2:01 pm on April 24, 2012 Permalink | Reply

      Awesome! I want to try!

      • Zach 5:19 pm on April 24, 2012 Permalink | Reply

Just grab a tofu product of some sort or a veggie burger patty and cut it into strips. Then, dip in Jell-O pudding (mine made with soy milk). It tastes okay, pretty weird at first.

And I’m sorry that the picture isn’t amazing. It’s just a quick snap I shared from my iPhone after auto-enhancing the colors.

Looks okay…not gonna try it though…

    Happy Semi-Late Birthday, SD!

If it wasn’t for my cousin Agent SD, we wouldn’t all be gathered here today. Thanks for creating this blog, SD. You’re pretty awesome. And I can only say that about a few people ;) .

And now, back to waiting for Doctor Who. This is what they must really mean by “Silence will fall.”

No, wait, we’re just all sitting around complaining to each other about it…XD

HAPPY B-DAY, SD! And seriously, thanks. The Terces Society gives me something to do when I absolutely can’t think of anything (at least) constructive to do. As for Dr. Who, good luck with that!

    Random Thoughts of the Day

Before I start my work, I have an odd thought to share:

The folks at the W3C say that my dear old friend the
i tag is deprecated. They now say that the right thing to do is to use the p style=”{font-style:italic} tag. What happened to good old i?

I guess the message is: Why do humans sometimes shun the simplicity that everyone likes in their daily lives?
