I’ve realized a few things about the strange way my mind works.
When I’m on a video call with someone and I want them to repeat something they said, I lean in closer to the computer, even though I’m wearing headphones and the leaning won’t help my hearing at all.
When I’m on a video call and my parents try to talk to me, I will attempt to pause the call.
In real life, when I can’t hear someone, I’ll think about turning up the volume.
If I’m having one of those zoning out moments with someone in real life, my first thought is, “I need to rewind this–they probably said something important.”
